Ingredients
- 200g Red split lentils
- 600ml Water
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Ghee or Butter
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 3 cloves Garlic (sliced)
- 2 Dried red chilies
Cooking Method
- The Boil Simmer lentils with turmeric until they break down into a thick cream.
- The Tarka In a separate pan, melt ghee and sizzle cumin until it pops.
- The Garlic Scorch Fry sliced garlic and chilies in the ghee until deep golden brown.
- The Marriage Pour the hot butter directly over the lentils; it should sizzle and pop.
