Ingredients

  • 250g Black lentils (Urad dal)
  • 50g Kidney beans
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 100g Butter
  • 100ml Double cream

Cooking Method

  1. The Boil Simmer washed lentils and beans in 1L water until they break down.
  2. The Architect Sauté onions in butter until they are deep, sweet, and golden.
  3. The Bloom Add spices and a splash of water to create an aromatic base.
  4. The Reduction Add the cooked lentils; simmer low for 20 minutes, mashing slightly to thicken.
  5. The Finish Stir in the cream and top with a final knob of butter.
