THE GOLDEN SLURP-BOWL
(Our Play on Japanese Curry Udon)
Ingredients: 200g Udon noodles (fresh or frozen), 1 tbsp Curry powder, 1 tsp Turmeric, 1 tsp Garlic paste, 500ml Beef or Veg stock, 1 tbsp Soy sauce, 1 tbsp Honey, 1 Red onion (sliced into petals)...
Ingredients
- 200g Udon noodles (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tbsp Curry powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 500ml Beef or Veg stock
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 Red onion (sliced into petals)
Cooking Method
- The Architect Sauté onions in 1 tbsp butter until golden brown and sweet.
- The Bloom Add the spices and a 30ml splash of stock; fry until a thick, fragrant paste forms.
- The Swell Add the rest of the stock and soy; bring to a boil. Add the udon noodles and simmer for 5 minutes.
- The Silk Merge Whisk in 1 tsp cornflour (mixed with water) to thicken the sauce into a velvet soup.
- The Final Flourish Finish with fresh spring onions and a sprinkle of chili flakes.
