THE FIRE-STUNG DRIED BEEF
(Our Play on Machaca / Shredded Spiced Beef)
Ingredients: 400g Cooked Beef (shredded and dry-roasted), 1 Onion (minced), 2 Tomatoes (diced), 1 Jalapeño, 1 tsp Cumin, 1 tsp Garlic powder, 2 tbsp Oil, 1 tbsp Lime juice...
Ingredients
- 400g Cooked Beef (shredded and dry-roasted)
- 1 Onion (minced)
- 2 Tomatoes (diced)
- 1 Jalapeño
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Lime juice
Cooking Method
- The Scorch Fry the shredded beef in oil until it is rock-hard and crispy.
- The Architect Add onions, tomatoes, and jalapeño; sauté until the veg softens and releases juice.
- The Bloom Add spices and a 20ml splash of stock or water; the steam will rehydrate the meat slightly.
- The Marriage Toss until the liquid is gone and the spices have stained the meat red.
- The Final Flourish Stir into scrambled eggs or serve in warm tortillas with raw onions.
