- 200g Moong dal (washed)
- 600ml Water
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 cloves Garlic (sliced)
- 1 Tomato (diced)
- Fresh coriander
Cooking Method
- The Boil Simmer lentils with turmeric until they dissolve into a thick soup.
- The Tarka In a separate pan, melt butter and sizzle cumin and garlic until deep golden.
- The Marriage Pour the hot butter directly over the lentils; it should sizzle and pop.
- The Final Flourish Top with fresh diced tomato and coriander for a raw, fresh finish.
