Ingredients

  • 200g Moong dal (washed)
  • 600ml Water
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 cloves Garlic (sliced)
  • 1 Tomato (diced)
  • Fresh coriander

Cooking Method

  1. The Boil Simmer lentils with turmeric until they dissolve into a thick soup.
  2. The Tarka In a separate pan, melt butter and sizzle cumin and garlic until deep golden.
  3. The Marriage Pour the hot butter directly over the lentils; it should sizzle and pop.
  4. The Final Flourish Top with fresh diced tomato and coriander for a raw, fresh finish.
