- 200g Red split lentils (washed)
- 600ml Water
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 Dried red chilies
- 1 small red onion (finely diced)
- Fresh coriander
Cooking Method
- The Boil Simmer lentils in water with turmeric and salt until creamy and thick.
- The Tarka In a separate pan, melt ghee and fry cumin seeds and dried chilies until they sizzle.
- The Marriage Pour the hot temper directly over the cooked lentils; it should sizzle and pop!.
- The Finish Top with a hit of raw red onion and fresh coriander for a textured finish.
