Ingredients: 200g Red split lentils (washed), 600ml Water, 1 tsp Turmeric, 1 tsp Salt, 2 tbsp Ghee, 1 tsp Cumin seeds, 2 Dried red chilies, 1 small red onion (finely diced), Fresh coriander...

Ingredients

  • 200g Red split lentils (washed)
  • 600ml Water
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Dried red chilies
  • 1 small red onion (finely diced)
  • Fresh coriander

Cooking Method

  1. The Boil Simmer lentils in water with turmeric and salt until creamy and thick.
  2. The Tarka In a separate pan, melt ghee and fry cumin seeds and dried chilies until they sizzle.
  3. The Marriage Pour the hot temper directly over the cooked lentils; it should sizzle and pop!.
  4. The Finish Top with a hit of raw red onion and fresh coriander for a textured finish.
